Flat Roof Maintenance
While it may not be something that you think about every day, your roof is the first line of defense against extreme weather, danger, UV rays, and other factors that your property is continually exposed to.
Did you know your roof needs regular inspection? Most people don't think about getting professional roof inspection and maintenance, but these preventive measures will keep your house in good working condition for longer. Depending on your roofing system, weather conditions, and age, your roof could be needing annual, biannual, quarterly, or even monthly inspection and maintenance to ensure proper functionality, check vulnerable areas, and make necessary improvements.
Today we want to give you some tips for flat roof maintenance:
- Organic debris is more likely to accumulate on flat roofing systems, especially during the leaf-dropping season. Deep clean your roof once or twice a year to remove all debris.
- You may need to level some areas of your roof and remove debris from your drainage system so the water can flow down.
- It doesn't matter if your roof uses a gutter or scupper system; you must keep it clean to drain water.
- Following a proper roof maintenance and inspection routine can extend the lifespan of your roof.
In fact, those roofs aren't totally flat because almost every "flat roof" has low slopes to drain water.
While there are several times a year when roofing inspection needs to get done, at Elevation Roofing and Restoration, we recommend checking your roof twice each year (during fall and spring) to maximize its lifespan. Fall is here, and it is time to take preventive measures, so give us a call and let the experts help you!!
